I’m Deepa Shridhar, a Chef in Austin, TX. I’ve been cooking professionally for over a decade, worked at some of the best restaurants in the state, had my own supper club,  and my own food trailer specializing in South Indian Texan cuisine, my own brand of third culture cuisine.

My passion in food lies in the cross section of defining what exactly Fine Dining is, my very South Indian roots, my love of all immigrant cuisine and the many ways cultures grow through them.  

 This newsletter and podcast and all subsections will cover food hierarchical systems, wine, cocktails, about being a South Indian immigrant, personal stories, of course recipes, techniques, dishes that I hope further your own flavors for your own dinner parties, interviews with other creators, makers, chefs and honestly so much more. 

Why Subscribe? 

I’m excited about talking about the food (and drink) industry from the perspective of someone who is and has been part of this industry. I want to explore many facets of it, (the good, the weird and the highly toxic).

My hope for this project is to create a food community and culture that has room for complicated dishes as well as the simple ones; a community that equally loves immigrant cuisines, a sidebar and a parenthesis.
